Overview

The Manager, National Training and Career Development Programs provides project management andadministrative support related to institution- and nationally-based training and career developmentprograms, such as the Child Neurologist Career Development (CNCDP) K-12 grants and T32s grantprograms, housed at Kennedy Krieger Institute. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing andcoordinating various aspects of these programs, managing the entire lifecycle while ensuring complianceand adherence to project plans and timelines. The incumbent must display professionalism, be able tocommunicate effectively with others, and function as an effective team member.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the central point of contact for all research and education administrative activities of thetraining and career development programs.

  2. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, oversee the entire lifecycle of the training and/orcareer development programs. Develop and actively manage comprehensive project plans andtimelines for the programs. Responsible for continuously monitoring and ensure compliance withprogram requirements and deadlines.

  3. Coordinate and oversee all project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines while beingcognizant of budget requirements and constraints. Provide updates and solicit input from therespective Principal Investigator and/or Program Director.

  4. Manage the development and utilization of a data repository and related infrastructure for theprograms.

  5. Manage websites for each program’s content, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurate.Manage the development and launch of new website content and formats.

  6. Manage the application processes for the respective programs. Support applicants by answeringquestions, providing training materials, and otherwise guiding them through process.

  7. In coordination with the Principal Investigator and each program’s director, contribute to writingprogram papers and applications, and preparing program progress reports.

  8. Collaborate with committees for each program and their prospective members to monitor progressand address challenges. This will include, but is not limited to, weekly meetings with formalagendas and status updates.

  9. Provide administrative support to committee members, to include scheduling conference calls,taking meeting minutes, and facilitating information exchange and consensus between the variousmembers.

  10. Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop curriculum, training, and career developmentmaterials. Identify and collaborate with subject matter experts to improve programs and applicantexperience as needed.

  11. Organize workshops, seminars, and other educational events to disseminate knowledge related toprograms.

  12. Plan and coordinate conferences related to the program, bringing together experts, researchers,fellows, and faculty. Manage all aspects of conference logistics, including venue selection, agendadevelopment, speaker invitation and coordination, and participant registration. Ensure the seamlessexecution of conferences, creating a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge

exchange.

  1. Engage with fellows and faculty participating in the programs through the management ofcommunication portals and training and career development venues.

  2. Facilitate mentorship opportunities and provide support to fellows and faculty in their research andtraining endeavors.

  3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, researchers, conference participants,fellows, and faculty. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for fellows and faculty toshare experiences and insights.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

PhD, MD, or equivalent degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years of related experience required.

• Previous experience in federal training and/or career development programs required.
